I got this error message when trying to load the website, so I deactivated the plugin to make the website work again.

Warning: file_exists(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/tmp/.postman_e14dd4b2.lock) is not within the allowed path(s): (…./tmp:/usr/share/pear:/usr/bin/php_safemode) in …/web/wp-content/plugins/post-smtp/Postman/PostmanUtils.php on line 256

    Hi @jtecklenburg,

I hope this message finds you well.

Thank you for contacting us regarding the issue you are facing. It seems like there is a restriction from your host provider on creating a lock file in ‘tmp’ directory. One of our users reported the same issue and he solved it by adding ‘/’ in the path. Go to Settings < Advanced Tab in Temporary Directory field add ‘/tmp/’ instead of ‘/tmp’.

Let us know if it is solving your issue or not. If the issue persists please provide us with your Site Health Report.

    Thanks and Regards,

Thanks for your swift response! I changed it to /tmp/ – but it still said it is invalid. So I made a new tmp folder within the WordPress directory and set the path to “/home/.sites/697/site1305605/web/tmp/” it now shows it as valid. Do you think that is a viable fix?

I still think it is a bit weird that the plugin crashes the whole website because of this. It also never complained about the invalid path when I went through the wizard.

Otherwise I really like this plugin, it provides a lot of useful functionality ??

    Hi @jtecklenburg,

I am pleased to hear you have fixed this and it’s working now for you. It might be due to the restriction from your host provider on creating a lock file or ‘tmp’ folder in your directory that’s why you needed to create a folder manually.

Thank you for liking and considering the Post SMTP plugin.

    Thanks and regards,
