• About a week ago something happened on my orgs website, and I have no clue why it’s giving me this error (see https://www.timeforchangefoundation.org at the bottom of the page):

Warning: Unknown: open(/var/chroot/home/content/t/i/m/timeforchange/tmp/sess_a2ef6efe9831e8d968d2a37b420b45ab, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in Unknown on line 0

Warning: Unknown: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct () in Unknown on line 0

I’ve seen several people post similar threads, but they’re usually plugin related and I’ve already tried disabling all my plugins, and the error still shows up.

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  • Did you try switching to another theme, like Twenty Eleve (default) to see if you can isolate this issue to your current theme, since the issue is not a plugin?

No, I have not tried that. This theme has been in use for over a year, but these errors just appeared. I will try this out… Thanks.

That, my friend, is not a wordpress error. It’s actually occurring outside of wordpress. You’re having an issue with PHP being unable to write session files.

It can sometimes be fixed by simply rebooting the server, but this is occasionally indicative of a failing drive. You’re going to need to contact your host.

And I would suggest backing up your files and database, just in case. ??

    Kionae,

Thanks for your help. You know, we did have a power outage about a week ago… I wonder if this had something to do with what happened.

    Thanks for your help!!!

I am having multiple problems with my site. First of all the widgets would not drag and drop, also the Visual and Html tags were not present. Also when I logged out I was directed back to the servers 404 page. Also whenever I make any changes I click ok and it takes me back to the front page without saving.
I tried to remedy this by backing up and then doing a new installation of WordPress. I had the same problems. I deleted the theme and installed a new theme. I had the same problems. What else can I do?

It sounds like you are having different problems form the ones I was experiencing, but I took Kionae’s advice, called my host (godaddy) and they fixed the problem on their end. I don’t recall exactly what they did, but I told them the symptoms, they took about 3 mins to go over the site, figured it out, and fixed it in no time!

    Thanks ??
