Warning: Do Not Upgrade to WP 3.3 if Using Backup Creator 1.7p or Earlier
-
I run a small network of for-profit sites on WP, and one of the management tools I use is Vladimir Prelovac’s excellent “Manage WP” plugin (premium now but in the directory).
I mass-upgraded my network and 6 websites (all running Backup Creator, a premium backup plugin) all went down.
On 2 of the 6 I was able to delete the plugin via CPanel, all’s well – but on the other 4 websites, I can no longer access WP Admin, after running through the entire support “Master List” for WP 3.3:
Disabled plugins via Cpanel (reset two different ways: via PhpMyAdmin and FTP).
Re-named my theme to re-set to default 2011 theme.
Uploaded a fresh install manually of WP 3.3, as noted in the guide.None of that worked. I even deleted Backup Creator via FTP and still no dice – deleted cookies in Chrome, tried Firefox…ran CCleaner: nothing.
I have 1 site I’m working on via CPanel that is totally obliterated: Cpanel File Editor won’t even allow me access!
Not sure what to do.
