The activity log is showing a warning after a Wordfence scan — I’m not sure what it means/how to fix it.

Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /home/customer/www/thissitedomain.com/public_html/wp-admin/includes/plugin-install.php on line 222.

Can you please advise what this means/how to fix it?

    Thanks.

    Hi @bws-online,

The scanner subscribes to all PHP error reporting.

It’s likely that you have another plugin that is using one of the filters in the www.remarpro.com plugins API and returning a bad or unexpected value. It is most likely a plugin available outside of the www.remarpro.com plugin repository that tries to manage its own updates.
    ?
The PHP warning error probably won’t cause the scanner to fail, but the plugin causing the error may not be working or updating properly.

The only way to find out the cause is to deactivate all other plugins and activate them individually, run a scan and see when the error appears and the last plugin you activated is the cause. You can then let that plugin author know about the error so that they can fix any problems in their code.

Thank you so much @wfphil. There was actually a plugin with issues that needed to be addressed — looks like that was the one causing problems. (It’s gone, the error is gone.)
