Warning: "Cannot modify header information"

    Hello,

    when running a backup through BACKWPUP 3.0.4 on WordPress 3.5.1 I’m getting three “warnings”:

    I have enabled the XML-export.

    Could anybody tell me what thes warnings mean – and what I have to do about it?

    Hey Alex, headers already sent kind of warnings often have to do with another plugin interfering. If your site allows for it, try again with other plugins disabled.

    thanks for your quick reply!

    I’ll try to deactivate some plugins – as it is a rather complex multi-lingual site though I need most of them.

    Can you tell me though what the consequence of this warning is?
    Is my backup still valid and can be used for reinstalling the site?

    Hi Alex, sorry for responding late, had to deal with a cold. To answer your question we’d need to look at the rest of your log message. Any errors (not warnings)? Does it say the backup has been created in the end? Generally, whether you see a warning or not it is recommended to test your backups from time to time and see if they really word as expected.

    Hi Caspar,

    absolutely no problem – hope that you’re feeling better now!

    Here is the whole log from a couple of minutes ago. It’s in German though.

    There are just those three “warnings” and it says “Backup created” in the end.

    Pheew – testing out the backup sounds kind of exciting, but I guess I’ll give it a shot soon. Hope I’m not breaking anything with this…

    Hi Alex,
    other than for those warnings your log file looks as it should to me. Restoring its contents shouldn’t be a problem at all.
    The warnings themselves are subject to guess at for me at this time, since I’m not able reproduce them. If it was my backup, I would go and create a test site under a subdomain, protect it from search engines and restore the backup there to make sure everything works as expected.
