    Can anyone please tell me why I am viewing the following message in red after doing a fresh install of both WordPress and SendPress plugin?

    Warning! Before sending any emails please setup your information.

    When I click on the link on the word “information” which opens the page:
    wp-admin/admin.php?page=sp-templates&view=information

    I see the following message:
    You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

    Yes, I am logged in as “admin” user.

    Can you provide a screenshot? Could be permissions on the files, but I’d like to see the message.

    Hi Charanjits,

    This is a bug you found in 0.8.7. We changed the page but it looks like we missed updating a link. That link should take you to:

    /wp-admin/admin.php?page=sp-settings

    This will get you to the right page. You could also just click that Settings tab. You will then see a “basic setup” page. This is the information that needs to be filled in.

    Thanks for the update ??

    I had filled all the details on that page but skipped the CAN-SPAM text area as I was not sure as to what should I place there. So, today tried to update it with some dummy text and vol-la! the warning message disappeared.

    I hope that the link href will be updated in future iterations of this plugin ??

    I am also wondering about the CAN-SPAM story…
    I guess thats only mandatory to US-based newsletters since I’ve never heard about it…

    Can that field be made optional?

    Hi Ovidiu,

    I just released 0.8.7.1 with some minor bug fixes. I also made it so CAN-SPAM is not long a required field.

    Hey Josh, thanks for the great plugin!

    Everything is working perfectly up until I hit “Send”, then I receive the message “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

    I have the latest version of WordPress and SendPress with all of the permissions checked. I’ve also set it up so that the emails are sent through my website.

    Any idea what the issue could be?

    Hi sp3n,

    Happy to here you like the plugin. I am looking into the issue. Could you tell me what your WordPress role is? are you loged in as an Admin? also what version of WordPress are you using.

    We added some permissions controls to allow other roles access to pages. This seems to be causing a problem for you.

    Hi Josh,

    Everything installs – test mail works – but nothing happens on submit on a page..

    ???

    But in the sidebar widget – I get “Thank you for subscribing” but no mail is received.

    Hi Josh, thanks for your reply. Yes I’m logged in as Admin and the version of WordPress I have is 3.4.2.

    I’ve tried deselecting all of the permissions but the issue still occurs. Oh the test email works fine too.
