I updated woocommerce today and as soon as it updated, the plugins page went away and showed me these errors:

Warning: require_once(/var/www/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/vendor/composer/autoload_classmap_package.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/vendor/autoload_packages.php on line 183

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/var/www/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/vendor/composer/autoload_classmap_package.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/remi/php73/root/usr/share/pear:/opt/remi/php73/root/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php’) in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/vendor/autoload_packages.php on line 183
There has been a critical error on your website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

I checked my email and clicked on the recover tab to get into my site. I then “deactivated” Woo and then tried to activate it again and at the top of the plugins page, it gave me this error:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Warning: require_once(/var/www/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/vendor/composer/autoload_classmap_package.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/vendor/autoload_packages.php on line 183

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/var/www/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/vendor/composer/autoload_classmap_package.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/remi/php73/root/usr/share/pear:/opt/remi/php73/root/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php’) in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/vendor/autoload_packages.php on line 183

I am not a php coder therefore I have no idea how to fix this? The site is not finished as I am building it now for a client but need to move past this problem. Please Help!

    Hi there,

Based on what I’m seeing in that error report, it looks like WooCommerce is trying to load files that can’t be found in its directory. Just to check, how did you update WooCommerce – was this via FTP or through the WordPress admin area? Have you tried reinstalling WooCommerce?

I had a similar issue. I tried reinstalling and it said I couldn’t do that because the file was already there. The error keeps crashing our store and I have to restore a backup to “fix” it.

I updated through WordPress Admin > Plugins > WooCommerce > Update Now.

Can you please tell me where I can find the files I need so I can update them, please?

Yes, I did as ogeecheeriverkeeper tried to do. Gave me the same message.

Okay, so I downloaded WooCommerce 4.3.2 from the WordPress/WooCommerce website. I unzipped it, then starting comparing files from my website to what was in the version I just downloaded. There were several files that were not in my directory install from my admin space so I uploaded them. These files were the ones missing:

    Woocommerce > Packages

    Woocommerce > Vendor >
    automatic
    Composer
    maxmind-db
    pelago

    Woocommerce > Vendor > symphony > css-selector > Node > Specificity.php

Now everything “seems” to be working, however, it would have been nice if these files would have been included with the update from WordPress Admin > Plugins > WooCommerce > Update Now.

    Hi there!
This sounds like the update did not complete fully.
If this happens to anyone else, I suggest deleting the WooCommerce plugin and reinstalling it to get a full install.

I hope that helps you to figure it out.

It’s been a while since we heard from you, so I’m marking this thread resolved. Hopefully, you’ve been able to resolve this, but if you haven’t, please open up a new topic and we’ll be happy to help out.
