Warning and Error messages when backup to FTP
-
BackWPUp used to work fine. We had weekly backups to FTP on another server running.
However, over the last few weeks, it has stopped being able to make backups. There have been no changes to our website or the FTP server being backed up to.
The error messages given are:
“WARNING: ftp_nb_fput(): php_connect_nonb() failed: Operation now in progress (115)”
“WARNING: ftp_nb_fput(): Entering Passive Mode (192,232,218,212,144,87)”
See the relevant parts of the logs here:
[27-Jul-2021 14:54:37] FTP client command: PASV [27-Jul-2021 14:54:37] FTP server reply: Entering passive mode [27-Jul-2021 14:54:37] Starting upload to FTP … [27-Jul-2021 14:54:38] WARNING: ftp_nb_fput(): php_connect_nonb() failed: Operation now in progress (115) [27-Jul-2021 14:54:38] WARNING: ftp_nb_fput(): Entering Passive Mode (192,232,218,212,144,87) [27-Jul-2021 14:54:38] ERROR: Cannot transfer backup to FTP server!
Once it tries a few times, it fails and gives the following on the last line of the log:
“ERROR: Job has ended with errors in 2153 seconds. You must resolve the errors for correct execution.”
We’ve spent a lot of time checking and trying to make the back-ups to work.
Why have the back-ups stopped working and what specific steps can we take to resolve the issues please?
