Want to overwrite existing permalinks

  • can someone tell me how i can overwrite an existing post with same permalink..

    for example:
    i have an existing post with the name:
    hello-world

    when i create new post with hello world, it will create
    hello-world-2
    I want this new post to have the permalink of hello-world and replace the old post content.. is it possible?

  • Hello dealsoff,

    Two posts never have the same slug. If you want to make “hello-world” for your new post then just delete the previous one from the trash also.
    Then after edit your “hello-world-2” to “hello-world“. You can find the edit button just below the title in post editor to edit the slug.
