Want to link text to pdf but not embed

    It’s definitely achievable. The easiest thing might be to temporarily disable editor integration.

    Go to Settings -> GDE Settings, Advanced tab. Check ‘Disable all editor integration’, and save changes.

    This should change the default behavior when inserting a PDF from adding the plugin shortcode e.g.:

    [gview file=”https://mysite.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/document-15.pdf”%5D

    to this:

    The Document

    Alternatively, you could manually change the gview shortcode version above to the ‘a href’ linked version whenever you prefer a link over the preview for a document.
