Is there any way to create a page without having it automatically added to the menu bar? Or is there a way to remove the link after I create the page?
I would rather not create it as a Post because of the formatting, so if anyone knows an alternative let me know!

  • No need for a plugin – it’s easy to remove a page link:

Looks like neither of these replies address the poster’s question, a question I’d also like to see resolved, if it is possible

Every time I create a new “page” the link appears in the top black menu bar (latest WordPress version, twentyten template).

I’d like to create pages that I can list only on the sidebar, and

not</u> appear anywhere on the Menu bar alongside Home and About. I’ve searched all over in Docs and have not seen this question addressed. I can use the “child” link so that it doesn’t appear on the actual menu bar but it still appears on the parent drop down menu, but I’d like to avoid that, and am only using it as a stop-gap measure.

I just want a static page’s link to appear on the side bar list. The first poster’s plugin does not address the menu bar area, and the second posters link only addresses showing/hiding a page listed on the sidebar, the widget area, not the menu bar.

    Thanks very much.

I found the answer in using two areas to specify my requirements. The Appearance>Menus page the links shown can be specified, and the Appearance>Widgets page I can drag the Pages widget to the sidebar and include what I want and call it what I want. No plugin required.

    Very helpful! Thanks
