Want the "category" to be a summary listing

I don’t know how to explain this without giving the URLs for my sites as example. So please excuse my major faux paux.

We want the “category” listing to be a summary like https://mjrausab.wordpress.com/category/beach-vacations/ where each post has a few lines then “read more”. Our hosted site, https://www.destinationsholiday.com/category/top-10/ has the entire text for each post listed out. I thought to change in “settings”, “reading” to have summary, but that didn’t seem to affect the category listing.

Any help would be appreciated.
