• Hi, all –
If this is answered elsewhere in the docs or this forum, please forgive me. I looked but was unable to find anything that answered this particular question:
When I’m typing an entry prior to publishing it, I can select some text and make it into a link using the ‘link’ button in the editing window. This embeds the selected text inside anchor tags of the form link. After publishing, when the page is viewed, and the link is clicked by a reader, it opens the linked page in the same window as my blog. I want it to default to opening the linked page in a new browser window and leaving the blog window undisturbed. Is there a simple way to do this that I’ve missed?
I guess that what I’d like to have happen is that whenever that link button is used, the link being inserted would contain the text TARGET=”_blank” by default, like this: link. Is there a feature somewhere in WordPress that already makes this possible? If not, can this be easily changed somewhere within the sources for WordPress? (Also, in that case, please consider this post a feature request as well!)
