• Hi All,

I want to add a new functionality to my blog. In simple words i want to use my blog as FORUM..

I have already purchased a theme. Website live at https://www.SmartPhoneForEver.com

my problem is “I WANT TO USE ONLY THIS THEME AS FORUM”…

Please suggest if its good idea to use wordpress as FORUM ?

    WORKING I WANT:-

Functionality i want is ANYBODY CAN CREATE A POST BY CLICKING ON A BUTTON “SUBMIT POST”

When somebody will click on “Submit Post”, He/she will be taken to a page like below to submit his/her post

    https://smartphoneforever.com/contact-smartphoneforever-help/

That page will contain below fields:

    1. name
    2. email address (email validation)
    3. contact no (applicable for my country only, no countru code validation required here)
    4. Categories (want to add Categories here from wordpress categories in drop down)…Please tell how to do that ??
    5. Description

SUBMIT (will be sent to account email.)

    After submission:

Email will be sent to account address
Post will be published with details of above 5 points as POST Content.

    Suggestion requested

Please suggest if so much mess up is good idea or else i should go with vbullet.in (but of course its so high priced)…any other way outs??

    Thanks in advance

  • Vbulletin is not the only forum software available, but it doesn’t sound like WordPress is ideal for what you want. I expect it can be done, but not easily as far as I am aware. Perhaps you should look up the likes of SMF and phpBB.

So is this the official blog or post page that has taken me all morning to find!!!!
wow how user friendly is this…
    oh my gosh !!!!!

so what is a link to my site?
    if i knew I would…
novel idea but how brown cow!!!!

    @smartphoneforever,

You can change the General Settings. Look at this picture with red boxed item in particular:

    Good luck.

    Surely thats a way out.

AUTHOR rule would be OK. But as i saw AUTHOR can perform below functions

    delete_posts
    delete_published_posts
    edit_posts
    edit_published_posts
    publish_posts
    read
    upload_files

I WANT AUTHOR COULD ONLY PERFORM “PUBLISH POST”

    Please suggest if its possible.
