w3tc on wp multisite installations using subdomains

hi there, just wanted to ask what′s the latest status regarding using w3tc on wp multisite installations with subdomains.

i don′t want to have a separate installation on each subsite like i read about in some older reviews on the net, my users won′t be able to work with that, did that change in the meantime, is it superadmin friendly now and allows to manage settings centralized from the network site?

if not, any future plans to change that?
