• Hi All,

I’ve recently started using w3tc and am getting confusing results.
Having properly set up everything as best I can tell my PageSpeed in the firebug plugin has gone from 62 to 89. and my Yslow result has gone from 70 to 82, and from grade d to grade b. So it seems like everythings working great.

Google webmaster tools though is showing opposite results?

Since the day of installing w3tc, kilobytes downloaded per day has gone from around 7mb to 2mb ( which could be good think obviously ) but the time spec downloading pages has gone from an average of 200ms to 400-450.

I’ve been running the plugin for about 2 weeks and the analytics report this difference constantly over this period.

My site is https://www.andrewkeir.com, the load times are still good, the user experience side of things isnt noticably different as far as I can tell. Certainly not worse, but google seems to be having a hard time.

    Any thoughts/concerns/suggestions?

    Thanks to all in advance.

crap, sorry, i just realised i accidently posted this in installation instead of the plugins section. Feel free to move to correct area, thx admins.

Webmaster tools works using Google toolbar statistics and as a result is in use by lots of different users with various network conditions. I’m not sure how you’re measuring the download times, but what you would have to focus on is getting your page loads down by removing more objects from your site or further reducing sizes of files used in your theme optimizing it for the slowest possible connections.
