    Hello,
As you can see on our page here W3 Total Cache is tested up to 4.9.8.
It is not recommended to upgrade to 5.0 if your plugins are not compatible.
We are testing W3 Total Cache on some wp 5.0 websites locally and there are no issues.
Please check your debug.log in your wp-content directory. Of course, you need to enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG. More about that you can find here

    Hi

I’m not a technical person . Can you please elaborate What should I check for in the debug.log ? And how can I fix it ?

    Hello,

You should check for any error messages in the debug.log

Works 100% fine for me and i am using an earlier (custom) w3tc version, not 0.9.7. Likely its a compatibility issue with a different plugin, not w3tc.

    Hi
I have enabled WP debug and WP debug log but I’m unable to find debug.log anywhere on the server

I am having problems with this as well. I removed the W3 plug in and still having issues. Have logged in and out. I unknowingly updated to 5.0.

This is what it says on a lot of pages.
W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home3/sarasav8/public_html/susanbrunophotography.com/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.

    Hello @sbruno701,

As you have removed W3 Total Cache you need to manually delete:
    advanced-cache.php
    db.php
    object-cache.php

    Hi @vmarko,

I’m getting the following error message and cannot upload any images.

W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /hermes/bosnacweb01/bosnacweb01bb/b1045/nf.gracebaptistchurch/public_html/draftwp/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.

How can I fix this? Do I completely delete the w3tc-config folder, which includes the index.html and master.php files? Please note that I’m not a technical person. Thank you for your help!

    Hello @gbctroyny,

You need to login to your cpanel, go to your wp-content and delete the following:

    Cache folder,
    w3tc-config folder
    upgrade folder
    advanced-cache.php (if exists)
    db.php (if exists)
    object-cache.php (if exists)
Make a backup of your .htaccess file. edit the file and delete everything between #BEGIN W3TC and #END W3TC (also if exists),
    Re-install W3 Total Cache

Thank you @vmarko! I did everything except for the re-installation of W3 Total Cache. This removed the error message, but now when I try to select a new homepage main header image or remove an image on another image, the site does not update with the changes. Do I still need to re-install W3 Total Cache for everything to work properly again? Appreciate your help!
