    Hello,

I just updated our WordPress version and suddenly I noticed something different. The header I made under elemenor pro is gone and the footer is totally gone as well. I also noticed this:

W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove D:\home\site\wwwroot\wp-content\advanced-cache.php.
W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove D:\home\site\wwwroot\wp-content\object-cache.php.

I tried reuploading and reinstalling the w3 cache plugin manually but it says it’s already installed. But I cannot find it on the plugin list for me to remove/deactivate it ??

    Helpppp. I am desperate

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @gjestehuset102

I am sorry for about the issue you are experiencing and I am happy to assist you with this.
Please follow the instructions below to completely remove and re-install W3 Total Cache:
    1. Check .htaccess File (make a backup)
W3TC will create many directives in the .htaccess file to control the caching behavior. Each section will start and end with comments like “#BEGIN W3TC Page Cache core” and “#END W3TC Page Cache core”.
Ensure that no residual entries are left over in your .htaccess file after deleting the plugin.
    2. Delete wp-content files and folders
    – cache folder
    – w3tc-config folder
    – object-cache.php (if exists)
    – advanced-cache.php (if exists)
    – db.php (if exists)
    – upgrade folder
    – delete w3-total-cache folder in wp-content/plugins/ (if exists)
    3. Delete Cached Files from CDN (if using CDN)
Besides deleting all the relevant files, if you use CDN then ensure to purge the cached content from your CDN. This is necessary when you enabled minify option in W3TC settings. You should delete the minified and combined scripts and CSS files from your CDN server to avoid the site breaking on the browser.

    4. Go to your wp dashboard and re-install W3 Total Cache

Let me know if this helps!

    Thanks!

Thank you for your reply! Is there any possibility we can talk directly and share a screen? There is no any w3tc file on the ftp server at all. So i manually uploaded one on FTP and maybe it will show on the wp admin page. Did not help anything. I try to delete the whole folder now but does not delete ?? ?? ??

    Hello @gjestehuset102

    Thank you for your feedback.
I would suggest you not to offer any screen sharing or credentials in this forum as this is against the wp.org rules.
Can you please confirm if you checked the root folder of your website?
Can you please share the wp-content folder and also check the wp-content/plugins/ folder?
    Thanks!

    Hello again,

Yes, I checked everything. Together with our local IT earlier today, but did not find anything. How do i share the wp-content folder?

    Thanks for your help.

I manually downloaded the zip file of W3TC and uploaded it to the plugin folder, and there I saw these folders you first mentioned. I deleted the whole folder but nothing has happened on the wp-admin page. It did not even show up on the plugin list ??

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello @gjestehuset102

    Thank you for the information.
Can you please share the screenshot of the wp-content folder and the path to it?
The drop-ins should be in the wp-content folder, and if you have not removed W3TC via the dashboard, the w3tc-config folder should also be there.
Depending on the settings used, the /cache/ folder is created to store the cached pages.
    Thanks!

    Hello @gjestehuset102

There is no option for this in the forum, however, you can upload the image to imgur for example and share the the URL

    Thanks!

    Hello @gjestehuset102

    Thank you for the information.
Well, this is weird, especially the fact that the wp-content and other WP folders and files should be in a websites folder. So I believe that you are in the wrong folder ??
I’ve checked your website and what I am seeing in the source does not reflect what the screenshot you shared suggests:

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks!
