• Hi,

I will try to be as precise as possible:

    1) Plug-in installed, running fine for about one hour.

    2) Then I cant login anymore with following message: W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/admineps/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.

    3) I adressed all things to remember from willie jackson in this post.

    4) After completing every step, I install the plugin again and receive the same error message after an hour with automatic uninstall. That means it is not in the plugin list and not on ftp anymore. How can I address this error if the plugin is always gone automatically?

    Hello carokross1986

Who is your host? Are you using any wordpress managed hosting? Would you please make sure if your host doesn’t allow any caching plugin and deletes such caching plugin automatically?

I don’t see any other reason in first chance. Please let us know.

    Have a good day!

    Cheers
    Ash

    Hello Ash,

I use hostgator and they say there is nothing from their side. Does W3 Total Cache have problems with Jetpack somehow? I haven’t been able to fix the problem ever since.

    hmmm, could be Jetpack.

Can you try disabling minify in w3tc and see if that helps (assuming Jetpack is enabled).

Also try disabling Jetpack but enabling w3tc.

Just want to narrow the problem down.

    Hi Kimberly,

    thanks first for your time!

Now, before installing w3tc, I disabled Photon in Jetpack.
Also by default minify in w3tc was not enabled after install.

It is running now for an hour.

After this, I turned on minify in w3tc again and get:

Minify Auto does not work properly. Try using Minify Manual instead or try another Minify cache method. You can also try a lower filename length value manually on settings page by checking “Disable the Minify Auto automatic filename test”

I simply crossed manually now and wonder if this is solved with disabling jetpack photon at the same time.

Is there a guide of how to configure w3tc best since it is a heavy plugin with a lot of settings or would you recommend to keep default settings?

    Thanks a lot,
    Christian
