• Hi,

If anyone has experience with the Vulcan minimalist theme from themeforest, I have added my own phone number field and validation to the contact form making all the needed changes in contact-template.php and in js/functions. It works great. I was going to add one for the email and realized it’s already built in to validate email but for the life of me I can’t find where this is happening.

It’s obviously a javascript/jquery thing because if I type a bad email and tab to the next field it instantly turns red but I have scanned through all js files in the theme and can’t find anything referencing validation or the email field.

Is this something built into wordpress? If I could find it I would like to put my phone validation there so they are in the same place.

    Thanks

That’s not a WordPress built-in feature (the contact form). If you’re using a feature of that theme then sorry, but that’s a commercial theme and we don’t support those here.

You’ll need to contact the vendor for support, it’s part of what you paid for when you made that purchase with them.

If that’s via a plugin then you may want to post the question via that plugin’s dedicated forum here.

    Thanks Jan,

I didn’t think it would hurt to ask just in case someone in the community had experience with the theme regardless of whether it’s built into wordpress or not. I don’t expect support here but it never hurts to ask.

The theme developer isn’t too developer friendly. On the theme page he repeatedly refuses to help people if they can’t prove they are the original purchaser of the theme which is just silly because people go buy the theme and then later hire a developer to work on it.

Makes sense to me. If you didn’t legitimately buy the theme, why should he help you? You’re stealing from him. If you are the dev and your client did buy the theme, they will have the license info to prove they paid for it.

    songdogtech,

In the little experience I’ve had as a new developer it has usually been a previous developer that set up hosting, bought a theme, set up other services, etc. and didn’t bother giving the information to the client. Usually the client knows little to nothing about these things (why they are hiring a dev to take care of it), so they don’t know to make sure they have this information.

So, it makes no sense to me to start off with the assumption that some one must have stolen it.
