    Hi

    https://www.hatsfromoz.com.au

VPI is only adding logo image, but first page image is not being added into VPI list. (Viewport images box in page edit). Any idea why?

As a result, LCP is quite high. I am trying to work on preload of this image manually, but it has its challenges

lazyload , or VPI only works for images loaded by <img tag , and if you look at your source code, that image is not loaded by <img but something else , that’s why it didn’t work on it.

    I see.

Yes, it is loaded as a background via CSS.

Another question, (or two)then. Can I add this image manually into VPI? Will that work? and how does one manually adds image to VPI? Box only contains file name, not the full path and one may have same file name in different subdirectories

it should take same approach as image lazyload exclude , full path , partial path or file name

yes you can manually add it into metabox of post/page , but I don’t think it works for you in this case if it’s loaded by background css
