Voting with cookies

    We are within the a company network with only few IP available.
    Restricting by IP is too much, leaving people able to vote multiple times makes the voting useless.

    I think a cookie-based control would be better.

    Nerofe hat Recht. Wenn einer in der Firma seine Bewertungen gemacht hat, war’s das für den Rest der Mitarbeiter. Im Gegenzug habe ich bei meinem aktuellen Contest Leute dabei, die mehrmals ihren Router neu starten und damit erneut Bewertungen abgeben k?nnen.

    Thank you both for this suggest.
    It would be a fourth option to vote besides IP-Block, WordPress-Registration and Facebook button. But it also would be the easiest one to cheat. You just need to delete cookies for the website and vote again. Would it be ok for you?

    The cookie option is for the use cases where cheating is not a real issue… We just want to dissuade most users from clicking multiple times the star.

    Usually people don’t even know what “cookies” are. They won’t delete them.

    I think this is very good idea and not to hard to implement. It is on my task list and will come out. But not as next. Working on new slider ??
