Here are just a couple quick things I notice go wrong for a lot of users of NextGEN Gallery Voting. Please have a quick glance at them before posting a new thread.

    • Firstly, please read the FAQ before using the plugin. You need to add a small ‘tag’ to the NGG templates to get voting on images working.
    • If you update NGG, this will overwrite the template you added the tag to. This means you will need to re-add the tag to the template after updating NGG, to get the voting working again.
    • You can prevent the overwriting of your gallery templates by moving them into a new directory called ‘nggallery’ inside your active theme. The plugin will use the files found there before looking into the /nextgen-gallery/view/ directory
    • Please note that you edit the voting settings from the NGG ‘Manage Gallery’ screen. The NGG Voting ‘Settings’ screen is just where you can set the defaults for any NEW galleries or images you will add in future.
You can get the Premium add-on that can give you the ability to update all galleries and images from one place, but you still always can set the option per gallery or image from the ‘manage gallery’ screen.

Please do not comment on this thread, please start a new thread if you are having problems. I will try keep this thread updated with any extra info I think will help.

    13 March 2014:
NextGEN Gallery version 2.0.57 and above has removed the ‘hook’ that this plugin needs to show the option in the “Manage Gallery” screen. I am working with the NGG developers to get restore this, but until then, you cannot set the voting options in the “Manage Gallery” screen.

I am going away until the end of March, so unless the NGG guys can get a fix in the next few hours, this probably won’t be resolved until then. I apologize for any problems this creates, but unfortunately I cannot fix this until NGG provided a way.

Please do not reply to this post, it is just for information purposes. I will update it when I am back, and the issues are resolved
