    Is it possible to set up a photo competition allowing people to upload photos now but not open voting until some date in the future?

    Sorry, also, is there any description of what is in the basic version and what is in the Pro version?

    No, that is not possible. You can set end time date. But you can not set open time date.

    Till now I had no time to create such list. But you can see all the possible options of PRO version clearly in backend.
