Vixy YouTube embed – how to remove ads please?

    Using Vixy (was this plugin formerly Artiss?) YouTube embed…is there any way to completely eliminate the small advertisement banner that fades in to the video after about 20 seconds of playing? We are a non-profit, and nothing could look tackier than an ad at the bottom. I know you can X it out, but it looks awful.

    Also, if there is no way to remove the ad, when I X out the ad a little arrow shows up at the botttom where the ad is…this arrow is really distracting…any way to remove that too?

  • Hi EllisR,

    Any advertising on the video is added by YouTube themselves and, unfortunately, we have no control over it. If the video is one of your own then you have the option, I believe, to switch it off within the settings of the YouTube site.

    thanks for the fast reply!! I unchecked the “moneytize” button on youtube, but it appears there is a music track embedded; the owner of the music track has “monetize” enabled, so the ads continue. If you update your plugin and find a way to eliminate all youtube ads, please let me know…this would be a valuable resource. Kind regards, Ellis

    Hi Ellis,

    I doubt it will ever happen. The video is feed from YouTube complete with those ads. Even if we worked out how to remove them I strongly suspect they’ll be against the YouTube usage T&Cs and any access would be pulled.

    But, yeah, if we could and it was all “above board” then we would ??
