visual toolbar in editor disappeared

  • I’ve been using WP 2.2 for a few months without difficulty and just the other day the visual editing toolbar on the posts and pages disappeared.

    It’s not a browser issue since I run about 10 other WP blogs all running 2.2 (maybe one 2.3) and they all display the visual editor in both posts and pages just fine.

    Searched and didn’t find anything other than browser issues here in the forum.

    Does anyone have any suggestions? Reinstall, upgrade to 2.3? Thanks very much!

  • Check your profile. Is “Use the visual editor” checked?

    Search for no visual editor toolbar. And here

    Also can be a htaccess problem.

    I had the same problem. You might need to contact your web host. I found out that my hosting did not have Java installed on the servers and the visual editor requires java to work.

    Once they moved me to a different server with java installed on the server my visual editor was working again.

    My server has java, and it is not working..
