I have the problem that with one of three custom post types, the “visual tab” briefly shows the content and is then emptied and I can no longer edit the window.

When I do CTRL + F5 multiple times in the browser I sometimes get lucky and it works as intended.

Sometimes I can also switch to the “Text” tab and then to the “Visual” tab and then it works too.

I have no javascript or PHP errors.

    Hi @markusnellenschmitz,

I have the problem that with one of three custom post types, the “visual tab” briefly shows the content and is then emptied and I can no longer edit the window.

Just to clarify – is this only happening with one of the custom post types you have set up? Are you finding the ‘Visual’ tab works correctly for the core ‘Post’ and ‘Page’ types?

It would also be helpful to know how the custom post type was added – was added through a plugin, or some other kind of custom functionality?

I am having this issue as well. Invisible post and no Editor toolbar in Visual mode. This is in standard post node – not custom posts.

I haven’t been able to replicate this yet with WP 6.2, Classic Editor 1.6.3, and Twenty Twenty-Three:

Could you both please look at the following and report back your results:

    • What version of WordPress are you using?
    • Are you running Classic Editor 1.6.3?
    • Is the issue present with all your plugins temporarily deactivated, except Classic Editor? You can use the Health Check plugin’s troubleshooting mode for this, which will not change your live site. If the problem goes away, reactivate your plugins one by one (while still in troubleshooting mode) to find the culprit.
    • Is the issue present with a default theme like Twenty Twenty-Three? Again, you can use the Health Check plugin for this.

@markusnellenschmitz – please also answer @jordesign’s earlier questions as well, when you have a chance.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

sorry for my late answer, i was on vacation. We use the Plugin “Custom Post Type UI” to add the custom poost type.

Its only happening when i edit a custom post type item.

@zoonini We use WP Version 6.2 and Classic Editor Version 1.6.3

@markusnellenschmitz Thanks for the info. I’d suggest asking the Custom Post Type UI developers if their plugin is compatible with the Classic Editor, as they may no longer be supporting it.
