• I downloaded and installed visual Recent Posts.

For some reason I CANNOT get an Image to Load. I want to have 4 posts in two columns. Each with an image to the left, and to the right the post title and an excerpt. I’m not sure what I’m going wrong. I want the plugin to look exactly like it does in the screenshot given on its plugin page. Seen Here

I would love to be able to give you all a link to my site, but unfortunately I’m working on it locally. Anything would help!

Please note, I am able to see the posts. The images are just what don’t show up.

  • Where are your images hosted? Are you importing/uploading them into the post or linking to them from another page/place?

Also, make sure you have the thumbnail directory created where it should be and the permissions on that folder set correctly.

    What OS are you on?

Using MAC OS 10.5.8. I’ve created the Thumb-Cache directory in the wp-content folder, but still there is nothing….. Its probably a write permission issue. Gunna change the permissions again.

I’m having the same issue. I don’t understand where to insert the image I want to display as the thumbnail. Do I have to create thumbnail images my self and put them in the thumb-cache folder? I’m very new to wordpress…….please let me know some additional details regarding the thumbnails.
    Thanks!

Also the link to the plugin homepage is pretty funky! I first checked there for support but it’s not what I expected to find!

Anulfranco – I share your pain – I need to know how the image gets inserted / attached to the post. The plugin forums are down and there is zero information online as to how to achieve this.

The thumbnails are generated automatically if you upload and insert them into your post. Only images you upload (i.e. that are in your uploads folder) can be made into thumbnails, so no hotlinking images and expecting them to make a thumbnail. Other than that, make sure the thumb-cache folder is in the right spot, make sure permissions are something like 777.
