• I am using a child theme with writer.
The fully loaded page looks fine, but in the loading process the header expands to the full width of the page and then snaps back into position.
I did see that there is quite a bit of javascript voodoo going on in the header and sidebar.
Also my header has a manually coded logo in the header template.

    Thanks
    Mike

If you revert back to the parent, does the issue persist?

If not, a good troubleshooting process could be to put back your child theme one small piece at a time, until you find the culprit causing the “snapping.”

    Thanks.
No problem with the parent – checked that already.

I think my child CSS was based on 1.0.8 with header, menu and sidebar sitting on top of one another, but now the header and menu are nested inside the sidebar with the funny javascript so I have to re-examine the width, padding and margin.

I got the wide expansion to stop but now the header menu start at left:0 and then shift out. I will get it.
    Thanks again.
