Visual Editor Problem – Different from Others – I Think

  • I have what I think is a different and unusual visual editor problem. I have read about 25 or 30 of the other threads and tried all the solutions including but not limited to cache clearing, theme changing, wp-admin and wp-includes deleting, re-installing, changing out folders from new wp downloads, visual editor box checking and unchecking and about 10 other things. None of it works.

    This is why my problem seems different. The problem only exists on Pages and NOT on Posts. AND, it only exists on old pages. When I go to create a new Page, the editor reappears. The last thing I tried was to install tinyMCE advanced. Same results.

    I would appreciate hearing any possible solutions and also if anyone has experienced this specific problem.

    I have 8 blogs that I maintain. This is the only one that has the problem.

  • Have you previously pasted content in from elsewhere – such as Word?

    I am sure that some of the old Pages have had some text pasted in. Whether it was from Word is difficult to say as many of them are more than a year old. I am curious as to what problem this could create and what I can do about it. Thanks.

    Content pasted in from other applications (such as Word) can cause problems in WordPress.

    Any idea as to why it’s been working fine for more than a year and suddenly broke last night? The Pages are for general categories and haven’t been changed since the site was originally set up. The only thing that has changed recently is that I bought the Thesis theme a few days ago. It makes no difference when I switch themes. I know that wordprocessors induce some some hidden junk format coding however, it is the sudden spontaneous breaking that is confusing.
