• Hello,

I updated the wp installation to 3.9.1 and it seems that now I am having problems with the visual; editor as I cannot edit anything from there.

I tried to disable all plugins and still the same problem, I changed the theme and it works so the problem is from the theme.

I am using the Twenty Eleven 1.4 and if I update I will loose all the changes that were done before.

Any help on this issue please ?

  • The issue is in your edited theme. This was confirmed by the fact that the problem disappeared when you switched to another theme. Rolling back to an old version of WordPress was just about the worst thing you could do. Were you aware that your site is currently running a very real risk of being hacked? You need to upgrade WordPress again asap.

If I upgrade it will delete that file again wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/inlinepopups and the site will not work.

Then you need to fix your theme. TinyMCE 4.0 simply does not have that file or folder any more.

no is not a realy problem but installed first version was 3.9. i see it in two our pages with diffrent templates. but both pages
fortunately, only in the test phase. but how can i solve this problem. go back is no solution and if i upgrade file is deleted.

I’ve had similar problems accessing Visual editor after the WP 3.9.1 update and followed semi’s advice to check the them (Weaver II) and all of the plugins. After deactivating and reactivating each one, I was able to isolate the Ultimate Tiny MCE Google Webfonts Addon plugin as the culprit. I have WP Bakery and seems fine. I also am running the Ultimate Tiny MCE and the WP Edit plugins and they seem to work fine (so far). I now have access to all of the Visual editor features I’ve activated.

I have same problem but am using the Aspen theme. I made quite a few changes to a page before I backed up the site and database. When I tried to update to 3.9.1, the first time it didn’t complete even though it was showing that version current. I reinstalled and it showed it completed. Since then I am not able to use the visual editor and the ultimate tiny mce icons are not showing. I was using version 5.2 and went to update it but was told it would not work with WP 3.9 or higher, to use WP edit. I deactivated all the plugins and installed WP Edit. Still no icons or Visual Editor. I will try to update the Aspen them next, but am not hopeful. I’m afraid I may lose all my work.

I have same problem. The visual editor does not work in my comment field. Demo: https://giaitri60s.mobi
