Visual editor missing, buttons not working, white text

    This was happening before and after the 4.5 and after the update, i tried uninstalling all plugins that had anything to do with the editor, and also tried uninstalling jetpack, nothing has worked, I cant get it to work on Google Chrome or Safari, I am using Mac OS 10.5

    My Site is Passholder.Club

    Facts of the Case:
    – Editor des not load
    – cant switch from the Visual Editor to Text Editor
    – you can highlight the text and see it (it is white)
    – All javascript files are in the wp-admin folder
    – google libraries has been installed and didnt fix the problem

    “Use PHPMyAdmin (or another database editor) to search inside your WordPress database in your “wp_options” table for the record called “can_compress_scripts”. and if it has a value of “1” for the “option_value”, change this to “0” and save the change. You will find your editor working again! (Note: Sometimes this record won’t even exist, so in that case you need to add it. Look for a WordPress database that does have it in order to see what you need to add.)

    Thanks @digbymaass! That fixed it for me!!

    @fatheadyy ‘s answer worked for me. I switched the formatting of the permalinks and saved. Then switched back to initial permalinks formatting and buttons worked again. I think this is mimicking digbymaass’s work-around. [My issue was that buttons would not follow their href, in fact would do nothing aside from looking as if they had been clicked]

    I got this problem, I use premium theme the7 and recently I installed plugin bbPres because we need a forum.

    Everything works fine except for one thing. Icons in menu for reply R missing. I tried everything.

    Clearing the Cache.
    Fixing via updating WordPress. ( through the wordpress database “can_compress_scripts” “option_value” )
    Fixing by Plugins
    Fixing via Google Libraries.
    Fixing via .htaccess and wp-config.php
    Using TinyMCA Advanced Plugin

    and the problem still exists, can you help me?

    As you told there is no “can_compress_scripts” in my “wp_options” in database. So now what should i do? :O

    Firstly you have to search under ‘option_ name’ for can_compress_scripts using ‘like’.
    Searches under other options return nothing.
    If you really don’t have it then you can add it. Select wp_options in phpmyadmin. Use ‘Insert’ and set so:
    option_id = ?presumably the value of the last row + 1
    option_name = can_compress_scripts
    option_value = 0
    autoload = no

    I’m guessing slightly as I’ve never added a row.
