Visual Editor issues with 3.5

  • The visual editor is acting very very odd…

    For example if I type something then go back, select it and format it is “H2” it doesn’t update the text to H2 but instead it sort of deletes the space in front of it and moves it up a line.

    The editor is just not acting normally for formatting.

    If you go to the text editor and put in the H tags it works, but not in the visual editor… Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • Are you switching between visual and text editors? That WILL cause problems – it’s a known quirk. Just save in one editor before using the other.

    Thanks so much for the quick reply. No I am not switching, I prefer to use the visual editor and simply type and insert things, then go back and select text and set it as H1, H2, etc….

    I have another WP site, it is a blog and has no problems at all… This is driving me crazy.

    These are the standard troubleshooting steps:

    Clear any site, server and browser caches.

    Try deactivating all your plugins and resetting the plugins folder (using FTP rename the plugins folder to pluginsHOLD temporarily)

    Clear any site, server and browser caches.

    Switch to the default WP theme.

    Clear any site, server and browser caches.

    See if that fixes it. If so, reverse the above steps one by one to see what’s causing the problem.
