Visual editor disabled after 3.1 upgrade

    I upgraded my 3.05 to 3.1 this morning and have seen a few funky bugs since then. I’d really appreciate a bit of help, or a nudge in the right direction.

    It’s consistent across all the sites on my install, and I’m suspecting a permissions issue, but haven’t nailed it down.

    I’ve tried renaming the plugins and mu-plugins folders on the off-chance that a plugin was causing the issue, but that didn’t alleviate it. I also checked my user settings to ensure that I didn’t have the visual editor disabled.

    Lastly (and this may or may not be unrelated), I seem to have lost the ability to embed an image gallery in a post. The button simply doesn’t exist.

  • I did. Did you look at the screenshot in the link I posted?

    I went back and looked at it again. This is like a nightmare. I know I sound totally idiotic, but what am I supposed to see there? I see nothing about enabling rich text editing in the screen shot.

    I’ve seen that sticky. And it’s funny to me, because I don’t understand about the link thing – but I DO jump between visual and HTML all the time and it never gives me a problem. It’s the way I work. I have to, because I have to enter flickr code on the HTML side, and then text on the other side.

    I’m really not stupid. But I am so frustrated I wanna sit in the middle of the floor, pull my hair and howl. As I said, I can see that I shouldn’t be posting here, so I won’t. I didn’t mean to be inappropriate. Such are the foibles of desperation.

    Thank you for trying to help. In the other threads, everyone who was there to help said ” Try this.” So I did, and I posted that I did and that it hadn’t helped. Then they’d come on again to say “Try this,” which was the exact same thing they’d said before and I’d answered didn’t work.

    It’s like shouting into a dark room.
