Visual editor buttons show while loading, but gone at final display?

  • I know there have been tons of missing Visual post-editor buttons, but I’m having a weird variation of that issue.

    When I open my Edit Post page, the Visual editor buttons display…until the page finishes loading. Then I get broken image buttons that insert broken image icons into my text if I click them.

    I’ve tested in Chrome and IE8; cleared caches and restarted browsers; tried the define(CONCATENATE_…) trick (that just made everything disappear); reinstalled WP; turned off all my add-ons; and made sure that the “disable visual editor” button is NOT checked.

    Is there anything else I can do to get these back? I can do the html coding, it’s just a pain to edit posts that way.
