Visual Composer Shortcodes in Description

VC creates those random characters for certain shortcodes, like raw html. The right thing for the product feed would be to ignore/drop all shortcodes.

I agree Edward. The question remains how could this be accomplished?

Anyone know of a “hook” that could be used during the product feed generation that would allow the use of some custom code in functions.php?

The plugin should remove shortcodes. Could you give me some examples of shortcodes you are using and in what attributes you are using those so we can try tro reproduce the issue at hand?

I hope that helps.

It seems to me that it’s the RAW HTML that is not getting filtered out. Basically everything between the begin of the raw html code and the end raw html code should also be removed.

It’s that Raw HTML encoded stuff that is making it into the product feed.

Thanks for this, very helpful. When I copy/paste your shortcodes into a product description it ends up like this in my product feed:

So it seems to me it does strip off all shortcodes, also the vc_raw_html tagging itself. We’ll look into if we can somehow remove the content in between the the vc_raw_html tagging too.

yes, that’s exactly how it looks on my side. I compliment your team of having the foresight of stripping shortcodes – brilliant.

For now i will have to delete the raw hrml manually (from a download file). If you could remove the “encoded HTML” itself, well, that would be awesome. I’m sure I could convince my client to purchase the elite version if I can demonstrate that everything uploads to the merchant center flawlessly.
