Visual Composer Conflict

    I am using the WP Bakery Visual Composer Version 4.3.4 (came with the theme) and it conflicts with Version 4.1.3 of your plugin. The button to select the FA shortcode is there, and can be clicked, but the modal window appears only momentarily then disappears after a fraction of a second. Disabling the Visual Composer plugin stops this from happening and your plugin then works as expected.

    Not sure if there is a workaround for this. Would be disappointing if there isnt. Not that I am a big fan of Visual Composer but it has a couple of handy features.

    Thank you for this report. We’ve had a few conflicts with other plugins and have had good luck resolving them. I’ll look into this and let you know what I find.

    Thank you for the access to your site. When I logged in I noticed that you’re not running the Font Awesome Shortcodes plugin (the plugin this thread is in support of). I’m afraid if you’re not running that plugin I can’t offer support via this thread.

    I really appreciate the access to your site because I was able to find that the problem synt4ks was having is caused by both Font Awesome Shortocodes and WP Bakery Visual Composer enqueuing the same Javascript, causing a conflict.

    To resolve the issue of the Font Awesome Shortcodes plugin modal window disappearing on sites with WP Bakery Visual Composer installed
    Add the following to your theme’s functions.php:

    wp_dequeue_script( 'vc_bootstrap_js' );

    Sorry, I stupidly assumed you were the Visual Composer Author, not Font Awesome…

    I am really struggling to contact them. The WPBakery swont let me register as it tells me my Envato item purchase codes are incorrect and for the life of me i cannot find another way to contact them. Envato have been no help what so ever.

    As an experienced developer and having been on my site, any insight into what the issue might be? I have a really tight deadline on this site and this is the last thing I need.

    No problem. I know how frustrating it can be to not get the support you need. I’m marking this thread as resolved because the above dequeue function should resolve it for other users.
