Hi there, I need some help please ??
I have inherited a site to update, in the admin panel it for sure has Visual Composer installed, not Bakery.
However when I go to edit any page I just see the code, like this:
    [vc_column_text]
    [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”grid” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” css_animation=””][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”4189″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”custom_link”

Etc etc instead of the page builder.
    Can you help please?
    Thanks
    Terry

    Hi Terry,

The shortcodes shared, are from WPBakery Page Builder. The Visual Composer Website Builder does not use shortcodes to render it’s content. The Visual Composer Website Builder and WPBakery Page Builder are two independent products. Having said that, one can’t be replaced by another.

You can find more info here: https://visualcomposer.com/docs/faq/visual-composer-website-builder-vs-wpbakery-page-builder/

Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Your setup is using a very old version WPBakery Page Builder when it was named as WPBakery Visual Composer. It was later re-branded as WPBakery Page Builder. This plugin renders using shortcodes and these shortcodes cannot be edited using Visual Composer Website Builder. If you face any issue in using WPbakery Page Builder, then you can open a ticket via it’s support portal: support.wpbakery.com so that the support team can guide you with it.

    Thanks,

So what would be your advice on this please?
Shall I uninstall the Visual Composer or update it or install Bakery?
I am trying to find a way out of this mess ??
    Thanks

    Hi,

As your website is previously built using WPBakery Page Builder, you can continue using the same. If you are planning to re-build the site content, then you can use Visual Composer Website Builder.

I don’t understand the advice, am I best installing Bakery?
At the moment the editor is totally broken, can anyone help?
    Thanks

    Hi,

Yes, to edit any existing content, you will have to install WPBakery Page Builder as the content is previously built using it.

    Thanks,
