I have changed some settings in the 4 access levels I had, and suddenly, the visitors don’t are always redirected to the page set in the subscriber level.
Only some pages have private access, and all pages and others that are not restrictied should be visible by the visitors.

I have tried all what I could in the setting, has there is nothing to set visitor because by default, access is open.

I’m really annoyed now, don’t what to do except deactivate the plug in a potentially open the private pages.
advanced access manager is also installed, but nothing change when I deactivate it. And anywya, it’s been 5 years it’s wordking properly.

Thanks for helping, because this looks like a bug…

    Thank you for reporting this.

Would it be possible to provide screenshots of the Access Conditions and Options tabs for your levels? You can use imgur.com

    Hi,
    thanks for your help.
I could get some solutions to my problem : I deleted all the access levels, and then recreated them. The problem was with the level option “non member action”. As soon as a redirection was set, impossible to unset it with no redirection. Recreating them from zero gave this option unset, with problem gone.

But an other problem went out : we have threre levels of access. I gave access to one page only to the 3rd level. And when I go on this page, I can see in the admin bar that the access is indeed only for this 3rd level (2nd and 3rd levels are extesion of the 1st level). But when I’m connected with the first level and I use the URL of the 3rd level page, I can see everything with the first level. I had to use shorcodes to hide the content to 1st level of this 3rd level page.

Here are screen captures of the settings of the two levels :

    Did I miss something ?

    Thanks !

I am glad to hear you got the first issue resolved!

As soon as a redirection was set, impossible to unset it with no redirection. Recreating them from zero gave this option unset, with problem gone.

What is the expected behavior for users without access to a certain page, e.g. do you want them to be redirected back to the front page, or should they see a certain message on the same page?

And when I go on this page, I can see in the admin bar that the access is indeed only for this 3rd level (2nd and 3rd levels are extesion of the 1st level).

When one level extends another, it will inherit all the Access Conditions and Capabilities from that level, so this is expected behavior, though I will see if I can make that more clear in the admin bar.

Can you try to unset the Extend Level option and see if that makes your access conditions work as expected?

You can read more about hierarchal levels here: https://dev.institute/docs/restrict-user-access/getting-started/extend-level/
