VIsitors can't post comments: duplicate comment detected…

    Hi,
    One of my blogs on my multisite installation (338 blogs, 1500 users) is giving a “Duplicate comment detected; it looks as though you’ve already said that!” in French (we’re installed in french).

    Visitors (unloggued) get the error. Logged users can post comment just fine.

    Theme is Capon, site is here: https://cybersavoir.csdm.qc.ca/lescoccinellesdisabelle/.

    I’ve looked several previous answers in the forums, but nothing conclusive other than deactivate plugins reactivate plugins… That would create a mess in my WordPress network.

    Any thoughts?

    – your theme “Capon” is not in the WP repo. You’ll be more likely to find a good answer from your theme’s developers, for they have the access to its code.

    Thanks Tara. It’s seems though that, after deactivating All in one security, the ability to post comments returns. I just tested it.

    BUT after research on their website, i can find no way to configure commenting… It’s a no show in their menus.

    So, how could i secure WordPress but allow commenting while preventing spambots? I receive roughly a 100 comment spams a day…

    I guess i’m new at security…

    I’lll contact them for help, but if someone could direct me t a good post about hardening a multisite installation AFTER is has been populated by 300+ sites…

    I reinstalled Akismet. Akismet did prevent comment from being posted in my Buddypress groups, but…not anymnore. So thanks.
