• Hello, I like your plugin because of it’s script-blocking-ability.
However, I am in doubt about compliance with GDPR.
Shouldn’t there be a way to surf the site refusing cookies without being bothered by the pop up box asking for acceptance each time a page is loaded? Means: IMO there should be a choice: “I accept” or “I don’t accept” which should make the popup disappear. How can I accomplish this? Or did I miss a point at installation and settings?
    Best regards
    WR

  • I second this.

The GDPR says it must be possible to use the site without accepting cookies. This is possible. However, for the visitor it would be better to have the option to hide the cookie notification without accepting cookies. This is currently not possible.

I would like to have a shortcode to refuse cookies that I can put on my cookie settings page. Or maybe the current shortcode [cookie-control] can have 2 options: accept or decline.

So what I want: the notification only has an accept button and a read more link that links to the settings page. On the settings page the visitor has the option to accept or decline cookies.

    Is this possible to add?

    Thanks!

thanks for understanding. Likely 99% of visitors do not care about these popups, which are now present at any site, and simply click it away. My understanding of GDPR, if it makes sense at all (which is in doubt), it should provide more control for the visitor and not just add some more bothering popoup.

Control means: I can decide “yes” or “no”. In this plugin, it’s just “yes” or “I tolerate your bothering popup for the rest of my stay”.
Even though the plugin is great in blocking scripts, I only use it because another method (using the script of cookieconsent) cant be implemented on this blog due to an issue with the wp theme I am using there. So, I had to search for a solution and found this one. However, I believe it might be GDPR compliant but it’s not user friendly.
Another point: you allow editing of the colors but not of the font-size which is quite small if you have an older target group.

Quick question from other thread re GDPR which was closed.

Plugin author stated – cookies are opt-in, and if you don’t accept them they are blocked. So i don’t think that opt-out is mandatory (just because practical useless). You can also use [cookie-control] to give opportunity to revoke the consent. This is mandatory

Could you clarify that [cookie-control] means?

    Many thanks
    Gemma
