"Visit Site" button missing

I realize that if one uses the “Site Title” then the link in the admin panel will take you to the site. My problem is that I use a header image for the title so trying to use the “Site Title” field will not work as it conflicts with the image.

Having the button back would make sense in this situation. There is a fix here https://www.blog.web6.org/visit-site-button-link-in-wordpress-3-0-dashboard/ but don’t really want to go that route.
