Visible counter on front end

Hi,

Are you planning or is it somehow now possible to also have a visible counter on the front end of a WP website, in the footer, no plugin.

Your great stats already counts everything and I would like to have a basic counter with:
Unique Visits: XXXXXX
Page Visits: XXXXXX
which then can be “dressed up” with css or something.

I know there are many counters, but most (if not all) depend on outside websites. WP-Slimstat uses it’s own database and I would like a visible counter also use the database.
