Visibility of Short URL

It is displayed in the admin bar when you visit the page/post.

Would it be possbile to show the url to readers at the bottom of the page, somewhere with the post meta?

Sure, but is it because you want to tell the users, or because you, as the author/page owner want to know it? otherwise I can have a look how to add it to the admin/settings pages.

I want to tell the users or, be able to copy and paste it myself when I am not logged into WordPress on that computer.

Just a convenience not a hard requirement of course.

But I should also be able to use

wp_get_shortlink()

somewhere in any template.
