Visibility eye icon not working on Firefox Windows XP

  • When using Firefox 52.9.0 (32 bits) on a Windows XP machine, the visibility eye icon that is supposed to show the password when you are typing is not working.
    Is this something that can be fixed….aside from upgrading to a newer OS…
    Up to my knowledge, this version of Firefox is the newest version for Windows XP.
    Any help on that topic would be appreciated….
