Since upgrading to 4.4.2 my virus scanner (AVG Internet Security) has been giving me intermittent virus warnings when I perform certain actions on my blog. The virus message seems to be related to the TwentyTwelve Theme, but I wasn’t getting the message before the upgrade. Also, I have had similar issues on another WP site that does not use the TwentyTwelve Theme.

Here is a link to a screenshot of the virus warning message.

The most recent virus warning is for an alleged virus called HTML/Framer.

    Has anyone else encountered this?

The HTML/Framer virus affects the header.php files of themes, probably all themes you have installed, not one in particular. It typically gets in via a plugin with a vulnerability. The good news is that you can (carefully) look at your header.php file and tell if you’ve got it. (In the past, I saw chatter online about false positives with HTML/Framer and AVG; I haven’t seen anything about it recently, and I don’t know if this is still an issue, but mention it just in case this seems to be your situation.) There’s a good article about how to check for HTML/Framer and if necessary, how to fix it here:

Installed Sucuri Pro at suggestion of my hosting company. Virus problems appear to be over.
