Virtue – standard image width 870 px?

    Is the max size possible on a page with sidebar 870 px? I have placed a 1140 image taken from my sliders and it gets resized and show correctly, however since I’m trying to keep the site faster I took a screenshot of the downsized image and is 860 something pixels, so is the appropriate size 870 px?
