Virtue and Language Switch

Hello, i’m using Virtue Theme that I love on a website and now I’d like to have two languages. I tried installing Polylang but when I wanted to translate the homepage, that is the main home with slider and icon boxes, it didn’t work. As i changed one language, also the other changed as it was just one language on the site. Is it an issue of Virtue Theme or did I make something wrong? Is there a documentation to follow that i missed?
