I use a plugin called “Virtual Robots.txt” which as it says makes a robots.txt file for the site, if I enable “Defer Non-Essential Javascript” in jetpack boost then try to access the robots file it is just a blank page.

As soon as I toggle this setting off the robots file works again.

  • Hi @reececvo,

Thank you for your interest with Jetpack Boost and your report. I am sorry that you are experiencing an issue.

The good news is that I have been able to replicate the issue and I am working on a fix which hopefully will be shipped in the next release.

My colleague or I will keep you updated.

    Thanks

@davidlonjonxwp awesome, the site was getting a good score with this turned on.

Would there ever be a way in the future to allow adding URLs to the plugin to not apply optimizations to if they are not working properly without having to turn entire features off?

That’s on our list of enhancements for future consideration, but nothing definite at this stage.

    Thanks!
