Vimeo support works in the past, I just put the Vimeo URL on a new line without styling.

Have you tried wrapping the Vimeo URL in [embed]...[/embed] shortcode?

    [embed]https://vimeo.com/2619976[/embed]

That should explicitly tell WordPress to oEmbed it.

    hi *waves back* !
I hadn’t tried that – does it support height and width? because that’s the issue. Just pasting the link works great, but then you can’t control the black padding that sometimes get added depending on video format…used a short code plugin for now that seems to work well ??

I don’t think I’ve ever gotten height and width working with native oEmbeds…

Jetpack should do that but if you’re Jetpack averse (some are ?? ) then Viper’s Video Quicktags should work really well.

Edit: *Drinks more coffee, reads part about shortcode. ?? *
